Zelda Fitzgerald was certainly an exciting woman. She was christened "the first American flapper" by her husband, F. Scott Fitzgerald. These stylized 1920's "flappers" reflect her rebellious energy. It rotates 360 degrees around its vertical axis. Her life was probably summed up best in Millay’s verse:
My candle burns at both ends;
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends—
It gives a lovely light!
Edna St. Vincent Millay, “Figs from Thistles: First Fig”
