Pan came out of the woods one day,-- …

He stood in the zephyr, pipes in hand,
On a height of naked pasture land;
In all the country he did command
He saw no smoke and he saw no roof.
That was well! and he stamped a hoof.

“Pan with Us,” by Robert Frost

Pan is an ancient Greek god represented as part man and part goat. He is known as being a little too fun loving. We associate him with the words, panic and pandemonium.  For you kids, pandemonium is what happens sometimes when the teacher has to leave the room.

Pick axes suggested the sculpture, using them as his horns, eyes, and beard. I like his white paint.
